| Sush’s Poppy Seed Cake |
Ingredients
- 3 cups flour
- 2 1/2 cups sugar
- 1 1/2 teas baking powder
- 3 eggs
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 1 1/2 TAB poppy seeds
- 1 1/2 cups vegetable oil
- 1 1/2 teas vanilla
- 1 1/2 teas almond extract
- Glaze: (opt.)
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup orange juice
- 1/2 teas almond extract
- 1/2 teas vanilla
Instructions
- Combine oil and sugar,
- Beat in eggs.
- Add the extracts
- Then dry ingredients and milk.
- Add poppy seeds last.
- Bake in a large bundt pan or 2 smaller ones at 350 for an hour.
- For glaze mix ingredients in saucepan and heat until sugar dissolves.
- Stir constantly until smooth.
- Pour over warm (but not hot) cake.
