| Ohmi Rolls |
Ingredients
- 1 cup of boiling water
- 1 cup of butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 beaten eggs
- 2 cakes yeast
- 1 cup cold water
- 6 cups flour
Instructions
- Soak yeast in cold water five minutes.
- While soaking, pour boiling water over butter-(or half butter and half margarine)-and sugar.
- When slightly cool, add eggs.
- Stir into above mixture.
- Add flour.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least three hours, preferably over night. Shape rolls and place in greased tins, or if crescent shaped on greased cookie sheets.
- Let rise until double in bulk.
- To give rolls a glossy look, brush with beaten egg just before baking and sprinkle with poppy seeds. (opt.)
- Bake at 400 for 15 minutes.

This recipe comes from Florence Gottlieb, the original Ohmi. It is a family tradition to eat these on Thanksgiving.
We make 3 dozen rolls from one recipe of dough but you could get up to 4 dozen if you made them small.
