| French Style Vegetable Soup |

Ingredients
- 6 cups of water
- onion
- ham hock
- 1 cup green split peas
- 1 cup yellow split peas
- 4 carrots
- 2 or 3 potatoes
- pepper
- bay leaves
Instructions
- Put, onions, ham hock, and peas into a pot with water.
- Cook for several hours over medium heat.
- Add carrots and potatoes, sliced.
- Cook for another hour over low heat.
- Add more water whenever necessary as you are cooking.
- Season with pepper and bay leaves.
- When everything is very mushy, cool.
- Run thru cuisinart in patches and return to a soup pot, adding more water and seasonings.
- Reheat and serve.
