| French Cream Filling |
Ingredients
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/3 cup flour
- 3 TAB cornstarch
- 1 1/2 TAB butter (best to use the real thing here)
- 2 egg yolks
- 3/4 cup cold milk
- 2 1/2 to 3 cups warm milk (Stick to lesser amount for an easier cutting pie)
- 1 1/2 teas vanilla
Instructions
- In a heavy saucepan combine first three ingredients.
- Mix together egg and milk.
- Add mixture, stir, till smooth and turn on heat.
- Slowly add warm milk and cook til thick custard forms.
- Take off heat and stir in butter and vanilla.
- Cool.
- Spread over a cooked pie or tart crust.
- Cover with desired fruit.
