Cinnamon Squash Bread
Ingredients
  • 2 pkgs yeast
  • 1 cup warm water
  • sugar
  • 4 TAB margarine
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 4 to 6 cups bread flour
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1/3 cup wheat germ
  • 1 teas cinnamon
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 to 2 cups leftover, warmed winter squash
  • brown sugar
  • cinnamon
  • nuts
Instructions
  1. Dissolve yeast in warm water with a little sugar.
  2. Melt margarine in milk.
  3. In mixing bowl combine the rest of the ingredients, except brown sugar, cinnamon, and nuts.
  4. Mix, adding yeast and milk mixture.
  5. Cover and let rise in a warm spot until double in bulk.
  6. Punch down and roll into a rectangle.
  7. Add some brown sugar, cinnamon and nuts mixed together.
  8. Roll up and put into 2 1/2 or three bread pans.
  9. Let rise again
  10. Bake at 350 for about 40 minutes or until nicely browned.
