Cheese File Squares
Ingredients
  • 1 pkg Filo dough
  • 1 lb ricotta
  • 1 lb. muenster
  • spices to taste
  • 4 eggs beaten
  • half and half
  • basil
  • oregano
Instructions
  1. In a greased pan with sides layer 12 sheets of filo buttering with melted butter between each.
  2. Top the filo base with a mixture of 1 lb ricotta and 1 lb. muenster.
  3. Layer 7 or 8 additional filo sheets on top of mixture.
  4. Cut in diamond pattern all the way through the layers.
  5. Mix4 eggs beaten well with enough half and half to make 2 cups and season with basil and oregano
  6. Pour over the cut diamonds.
  7. Bake at 425 for 30-40 minutes.
  8. Re-cut before serving.
Notes

Good warm or at room temperature. May be frozen and reheated.
