Butter Cookies
Ingredients
- 4 sticks unsalted butter
- 1 1/3 cups sugar
- 3/4 teas. salt (opt.)
- 3 large egg yolks
- 2 teas. vanilla
- 4 2/3 cups flour
Instructions
- Cream butter, sugar, vanilla and salt
- Beat in egg yolks one at a time, until smooth
- Beat in flour gradually, until just combined
- Roll dough on floured board and cut into shapes.
- Decorate with sugar before baking or frost afterwards.
- Dough can be chilled before rolling.
Notes
Save the egg whites for meringues.
