| Boston Baked Beans |
Ingredients
- 2 cups pea beans (smallest white beans)
- 1 cup Ketchup
- 1 small onion cut up
- 2 teas dry mustard
- 3 TAB white or cider vinegar
- 3 TAB molasses
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
Instructions
- Wash and pick over beans and soak overnight.
- In the morning drain and boil in fresh water until skins begin to burst. If you forget to soak overnight just boil for longer.
- Place in bean pot with the rest of the ingredients.
- Bake at 300 for 5 hours or in the oven with a brisket.
- If baking with brisket add fat skimmed from the top of the brisket as it bakes.
- In any case also add water if beans are looking too dry as they bake.
