| Basic Pie Crust |
Ingredients
- 1 cup Crisco or 1/2 cup Crisco plus 1 stick margarine
- 1 teas sugar
- 2 2/3 cups flour
- 1/2 cup orange juice or cold water
Instructions
- Combine first four ingredients in Cuisinart –
- Add juice till ball is formed.
- If mixing by hand cut together first four ingredients at once. Using two knives works best.
- Then add juice.
- Divide in two and put into sandwich baggies.
- Flatten and refrigerate for at least 20 minutes.
- Roll out for pie or quiche.
Notes
If you refrigerate for several hours or a couple of days you may want to let the dough warm up a bit before rolling.
