Aunt Ida’s Sour Cream Coffee Cake
Ingredients
  • Cake:
  • 1/2 lb. margarine or butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 teas. vanilla
  • 3 cups flour
  • 3 teas. baking powder
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • Crunch Topping:
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts
  • 2 teas. cinnamon
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
  1. Cream sugar and butter and vanilla.
  2. Add eggs.
  3. Mix dry ingredients in batter alternating with sour cream.
  4. Pour half the batter in Tube or bundt pan.
  5. Add half crunch and repeat.
  6. Bake 55-60 min. at 350.
Notes

You can use this dough to make a marble bundt cake. Reserve 2/3rds of the batter and mix Hersey’s syrup and chocolate chips into the rest. Then layer in the pan, vanilla, chocolate, vanilla. Bake as normal. This variation is a huge hit with kids.
