| Aunt Ida’s Sour Cream Coffee Cake |
Ingredients
- Cake:
- 1/2 lb. margarine or butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1/2 teas. vanilla
- 3 cups flour
- 3 teas. baking powder
- 1 cup sour cream
- Crunch Topping:
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts
- 2 teas. cinnamon
- 1 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- Cream sugar and butter and vanilla.
- Add eggs.
- Mix dry ingredients in batter alternating with sour cream.
- Pour half the batter in Tube or bundt pan.
- Add half crunch and repeat.
- Bake 55-60 min. at 350.
Notes
You can use this dough to make a marble bundt cake. Reserve 2/3rds of the batter and mix Hersey’s syrup and chocolate chips into the rest. Then layer in the pan, vanilla, chocolate, vanilla. Bake as normal. This variation is a huge hit with kids.
